Ellis County taxpayers can use a new app to see how their taxes fund County services. Entering info will display an unofficial estimate of taxes and a "receipt" showing how those funds are distributed.
Ellis County is now offering the Taxpayer Receipt online app created by the Engaged Public firm out of Denver, CO. Ellis County joins a growing number of cities, counties and school districts nationwide using Engaged Public's "Balancing Act" suite to better engage residents in the budget processes of their local governments.
If you've ever wanted to know what exactly Ellis County does with those big checks you send in for property and motor vehicle taxes, this app provides a convenient estimate - based on the value of your home and the State of Kansas vehicle tax estimator - to illustrate how critical County services are financed.
