On July 28, 2010 at approximately 10:30 p.m. a W/F was driving southbound on U.S. Hwy 183 just South of the Saline River bridge in rural Ellis County, Kansas when she observed a late 1980's model hunter green Ford Explorer (dirty) stopped along the side of the road. The W/F observed a young Native American child approximately 3 years of age standing alone at the rear of the vehicle. When she stopped and made contact with the child, a Native American male, described as approximately 6'2" 250 Ibs, approximately 35-40 years of age, with a scorpion tattoo on the left side of the neck approached the female, restrained her and raped her. The suspect and child were last seen turning westbound on a county road. Anyone with any information or may have driven by this area and observed a vehicle or person matching this description is asked to please call the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office at 785 625-1040.
