[ARCHIVED] We're Moving!!!!

The Ellis County Jail will be located at 3000 New Way starting Friday, November 28th, which is located just off Commerce Parkway south of Highway 40. The jail in this facility will only be holding cells until the inmate is transferred to another facility should they not be released by either the court or bond after a two to three hour period. Fingerprints for concealed carry, school or employment will now be done in the Court Service Office located at 1205 Fort beginning Monday, December 1st from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. To bond an individual out please contact the Jail Facility by the phone located at the front doors on the building or you may call the jail number with your personal phone. Jail staff will meet you at the front doors and you may begin the bonding process.

The Ellis County Sheriff's Office will be closed on Thursday, December 4th and Friday, December 5th so employees may begin the move to the same location at 3000 New Way. The Sheriff's Office will be open for normal business on Monday December 8th. Our mailing address will remain the same, 105 West 12th St, Hays, KS 67601.

All phone numbers will remain the same, 785-625-1040 for the Sheriff's Office and 785-625-1050 for the jail.

We are sorry for the inconvenience but due to the remodeling of the Law Enforcement Center this is necessary. We hope to be back at our normal location within one year.
