July 14th through July 24th, 2010
The Ellis County Sheriff's Office will again be overseeing the safety and security at this years fairgrounds, which is located at 1343 Fairgrounds Road, Hays, KS.
Patrons may get to the fairgrounds in various ways. From U.S. 183 Alternate take the Fairgrounds Road, which is just south of the U.S. 183 Alternate & Interstate 70 (I-70) on/off ramp west till you come to the Ellis County Fairgrounds. Patrons traveling on Highway 40 from the west can take 220th Avenue north to Fairgrounds Road then east to the Ellis County Fairgrounds.
We urge motorists to slow down when driving in fair ground parking lots. Parking is normally plentiful but every year a few motorists insist on parking their vehicle in such a way that other drivers can get their vehicle out. Parking your vehicle "three deep" or in a fashion so that others can't leave is inconsiderate. Those offending vehicle will be towed at the owner's expense.
Fairground Car Parkers are trained professionals who expedite the massive traffic flow in and out of our fairground parking lots. It's a job that at times can be extremely stressful not to mention hot and dusty. Please be considerate when being directed by the Car Parking Staff.
Have a great time at the Ellis County Fair from all of us here at the Sheriff's Office!
