Ellis County Patrol Division
Our Patrol Division is comprised of full-time patrol deputies who maintain 24-hour service for a jurisdiction just over 900 square miles. Deputies often assist the municipal police departments of Ellis, Hays, and Victoria as well as the Kansas Highway Patrol. They are directly responsible for the safety and security of our unincorporated communities of Antonino, Catharine, Emmeram, Munjor, Pfeifer, Toulon, Turkville, Walker, Yocemento, and all rural areas of our county. Our nine patrol deputies have more than 100 years of combined patrol service for the Ellis County Sheriff's Office and more than 147 years of combined Law Enforcement service. Deputies assist with Jail, Courthouse, K-9 deployments, and Investigational operations. These dedicated men and women are truly the mortar which binds all of the Sheriff’s Office Divisions together.
Patrol Deputies are responsible for the preservation of peace and protection of our citizens. A few of their day to day responsibilities include civil process, warrant service, traffic enforcement, criminal and accident investigation, criminal and civil transports, animal calls, business checks, and assist Ellis County Emergency Medical Services and Ellis County Rural Fire.
- I just found a brightly colored civil process slip in my door from your department for someone that used to live at my residence or someone I don’t know. What do I do now?
- How do I report a crime?
- I just found a brightly colored slip in my door from our office. It reads that the Sheriff’s Department has a civil process paper for me. What do I do now?
- I am aware that your office has civil process for me but I’ve heard that if I avoid service I will elude having to go to court and the matter might simply “go away”
- When should I call 9-1-1 opposed to calling on the Sheriff's administrative line (785) 625-1040?
- What is Civil Process?
