The Ellis County Fire Department's firefighters protect life and property by performing 24-hour, on-call duties that include:

Firefighters maintain fire equipment, apparatus, and facilities. They are paid per call at the end of each month. ISO standards mandate that every volunteer firefighter attend at least two hours of training every month.
