The Ellis County Health Department provides vaccinations for adults to prevent disability and death from infectious diseases as well as to control the spread of infections within our community. All vaccinations are administered using the recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and under protocols issued by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and signed by our Medical Consultant.

High risk adults such as those with long-term health problems, weakened immune systems, and those age 65 and older are at a more serious risk from vaccine preventable diseases:

Routinely recommended adult vaccinations may include:

Immunization Clinic:
The Ellis County Health Department provides a walk-in vaccination clinic every Monday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The clinic provides immunizations for:
  • Infants and children
  • Adolescents, and
  • Adults

In addition, appointments can be made for vaccinations on other days by calling the department at 785-628-9440.

The health department provides these vaccines at the lowest cost available and there is no charge for an office visit. We can bill most insurance companies for vaccination services however we are unable to bill Medicare (we can bill Medicare Part D for some vaccines). The health department does accept cash, checks, or credit/debit cards.

To save time complete and print your flu consent form here and bring it to the health department.
