Yes, the health department does administer allergy shots for children. However, first you must consult your allergist. If needed, the allergist will prescribe the appropriate antigen(s) for your child's allergy. The health department can then administer the shots following completion of some paperwork and receipt of the antigen. For your convenience allergy shots are scheduled every Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday, and provided at a very low cost. In addition. clients are expected to wait 30 minutes following their shot(s) should a reaction occur
